Losing weight can be painstaking slow for many people. They diet, the exercise, the hold themselves back from eating the foods they like or even stop attending parties to avoid the tempting foods. In the end, they lose a pound or two a week and they become frustrated from the lack of results. It doesn't have to be that way, though. Losing weight can be done fast and can be much easier than you thought. The following are some tips to show you how to lose weight fast and easy.
The first tip involves setting your focus to the short term. Make the commitment for 8 weeks that you will follow your plan to the letter for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, you can reward yourself and indulge, but you don't do that until you've reached your 8 week objective.
This strategy treats your diet like a sprint...Go all out for several weeks and then relax. Mentally, it's much easier to focused and determined for several weeks than it is to look at your diet as a lifetime of misery. In short, don't make small changes to your diet and exercise plan. Make big changes for short periods. Many people will find that mentally when they know there is an end right around the corner, they can bear down and exert the necessary discipline to be successful.
Food Choices To Lose Weight Faster
The second tip is to load up on vegetables every time you go to the store. Because they are bulky and fibrous, vegetables can add a lot of density to your diet. This gives you the impression that you have eaten more than you really have. In essence, you've filled your belly with low calorie, bulky foods that are packed with nutrition. This is a great way to trick your brain into feeling satisfied on lower calories.
On the opposite end of the spectrum are calorie dense foods. Things like cookies, cakes, and pizza are calorie dense foods. One bit of these foods and you're taking on a lot of calories with very little fiber and very little bulk...But, heck, everyone knows you don't eat these things, if you're on a diet. But, if you want to know how to lose weight fast and easy, you should should watch out for some supposedly healthy foods that are calorie dense foods.
Among the foods that are calorie dense that many people include in their diet are pastas, white rice, crackers, white breads and cereals. You'll notice that many of these foods have little to no fiber content. They are high in sugars and by volume, pack quite a caloric wallop. Eliminate these foods from your diet and replace them with vegetables or fruits instead.
Exercise Choices To Lose Weight Faster
Don't spend hours in the gym. We want to lose weight easier and in less time. We don't want to commit to hours in the gym each day...The nice thing is, you won't have to. You can lose a considerable amount of weight by exercising 3 times a week for about an hour at a time.
The key to doing this is to create what personal trainer Alwyn Cosgrove calls a "metabolic disturbance". That is you work hard in the gym so that you kick your metabolism into high gear as a result of your exercise efforts. In fact, it's been proven that very demanding workouts can cause the body to continue to burn calories long after the workout has been completed.
Cosgrove recommends metabolic resistance training as the preferred way to lose more weight in less time. In fact, according to Cosgrove, this type of training causes such a metabolic disturbance, that your body will continue to burn calories for up to 36 hours after training. Now, that what I call a big bang for your workout buck.
There you have it. There's the essence of how to lose weight fast and easy. The key is sticking to your plan for 8 weeks and then backing off for a week. If you haven't reached your weight loss goals, then you can start on a new 8 week plan after your week to two hiatus. This will help you keep things fresh.
