Turbulence Training: A Review of Ballantyne's Exercise and Weight Loss Program
Review:
Website: TurbulenceTraining.com

General comments: Turbulence Training was developed by Craig Ballantyne. It's a well researched exercise programs and one of the first to recognize that short, intense workouts are more optimal for shedding fat.
This program is great for both men and women. And, it also has programs for beginners...with the idea that you will move to more advanced programs as you progress.
Diet Plan: The diet plan was written by Dr. Chris Mohr. This plan is simple, easy to follow and very sensible. There is no fluff to the program, not a lot of scientific theory, and not a lot of trying to convince you that this approach is the right approach. Rather, this dietary plan is simple and all about the "how to" of the diet.
However, if you're looking for recipes, you won't get much of that here. This is a template that shows you how to develop your own meals. The diet plan works hand-in-hand with the Turbulence Training program, but it is also a good strategy for a lifetime of healthy eating.
Workout Program: The exercise plan is where the Turbulence Training Program really shines. Ballantyne has created a program that focuses on short, intense workouts. His approach is, "Why waste time? Do what is most efficient and effective." And, I am inclined to agree with his approach.
What most programs fail to take into account is the need for the body to recuperate. Over training can negatively impact a weight loss plan by lowering the bodies metabolic set point and causing us to hold on to fat.
There are 5 different workouts to chose from including beginner workouts, intermediate workouts, and advanced. In addition, there are workouts specifically designed for getting the abs you want. I suggest you pick the one that seems most appropriate to your goals and level of conditioning, complete that program and then move on to another.
Expect to workout three days a week using whole body, compound type movements. You won't need extra cardio workouts, but you might consider some low intensity exercises like walking on your non-workout days to burn a few calories.
